Deception.
Materials: Cardboard, Duct Tape (Black and Silver), Fake fur textile, Metal scrap parts
Size: Width 2.5 In, Height 13.5 In, Depth 6 In
Artist Statement:
I designed this box and the objects inside to visibly convey a sense of deception and misrepresentation. For that, I choose to make the outside of the box friendly-looking and inviting. It looks nice to the touch and like it would have toys or plushies inside. Yet, inside, there are interesting-looking tools that aren't actually tools and can't be used. Confusing and leads to a misconception of what would be inside. I show that through the photographs taken of my box.

Notes:
For my research, I blindly chose two of the example Fluxus boxes that caught my attention. And for the two movies that I wanted to use for this project were Wicked and Star Wars. With all these factors playing roles in my box, I choose a theme of deception. In both movies, it is a common theme, along with the two boxes I chose, it makes sense, but it doesn't, it also appears to be something that isn't. So for my box, I recreated that.
