Title: Flowers on the Mountain

Size: Height 8 In, Diameter 11 In

Detail #1: I created flowers out of multiple cutouts and layered them to make a 3D effect
Detail #2: For the mountain, I crumpled watercolor paper a bunch and made ot wet with water and glue to give the hill a textured look.

Landscape with hills and a little house, influenced by traditions of old Chinese art, watercolor painting on paperhttps://www.artelista.com/en/artwork/painting-landscape-with-chinese-houses-in-hills-1241407

These artworks were used for my inspiration because they were visually appealing and show the landscape and history in which this sculpture was to be designed around.  Mountains, Rocks, Traditional Architecture, Flowers, and Texture. All these played into my sculpture.

Deception.
Materials: Cardboard, Duct Tape (Black and Silver), Fake fur textile, Metal scrap parts
Size: Width 2.5 In, Height 13.5 In, Depth 6 In

Artist Statement:
I designed this box and the objects inside to visibly convey a sense of deception and misrepresentation. For that, I choose to make the outside of the box friendly-looking and inviting. It looks nice to the touch and like it would have toys or plushies inside. Yet, inside, there are interesting-looking tools that aren't actually tools and can't be used. Confusing and leads to a misconception of what would be inside. I show that through the photographs taken of my box.

Notes:
For my research, I blindly chose two of the example Fluxus boxes that caught my attention. And for the two movies that I wanted to use for this project were Wicked and Star Wars. With all these factors playing roles in my box, I choose a theme of deception. In both movies, it is a common theme, along with the two boxes I chose, it makes sense, but it doesn't, it also appears to be something that isn't. So for my box, I recreated that.
